This tour drives overland from Kathmandu to Lhasa across the Himalayas by way of the incredible Arniko Highway that connects Nepal with Tibet. Enjoy fabulous mountain scenery enroute, visit mystical Buddhist monasteries of Tashilungpo at Shigatse, the Kumbum Stupa at Gyantse, and drive past the beautiful Turquoise lake. In Lhasa visit the famous Potala and Norbulinkha palaces, the great Drepung Monastery and walk through the bustling Barkor Bazaar before flying back to Kathmandu (or onward to China). Itinerary Detail of Kathmandu Lhasa Tours
Day 01 : Kathmandu – Nyalam
Drive from Kathmandu to Tibet Border. Cross Friendship Bridge into Tibet and meet Tibet Guide. Drive to Zhangmu or continue to Nyalam. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 02: Zhangmu - Xegar
Drive to Xegar crossing NYALAMU PASS (3800m.) & LALUNG LA PASS (5050m.). This drive offers fantastic view of the high mountains including Everest (8848m.). Hotel in Xegar or Tingri.
Day 03: Xegar – Shigatse
Drive (Approx 8hrs) to Xigatse. Shigatse has the famous Tashilunpo Monastery and the seat of Panchen Lama. Hotel in Shigatse.
Day 04: Shigatse – Gyantse
In the morning visit Tashilunpo Monastery and the free market of Shigatse. In the afternoon drive to Gyantse and visit Phalkor Monastery and Khumbum Stupa. Overnight at Hotel Gyantse.
Day 05: Gyantse – Lhasa
The drive to Lhasa takes 08 hours, crossing two passes - THE KAROLA (5010M.) and KAMBA LA (4794M.) via Yamdrok Tso lake.

Day 06: Lhasa Sightseeing Tour
Guided sightseeing tour of Potala, the winter palace of the Dalai Lama; Drepung, the biggest monastic university of Tibet & Nechung Monastery, temple of the State oracle of Tibet. Hotel in Lhasa.
Day 07: Lhasa Sightseeing
Guided sightseeing tour of Jokhang, the central cathedral of Tibet, Barkhor, the bustling Lhasa market encircling the Jokhang Temple, Tibetan Medical Center & Norbulinka Palace. Hotel in Lhasa.
Day 08: Fly back to Kathmandu
We have to get up very early for our transfer to Gonggar airport to catch the flight back to Kathmandu. This flight is one of the most spectaculars in the world with aerial views of the Himalayan range including the Mt. Everest.
